One background. Two screen shapes.
Brave New Tab Takeover (NTT) places campaign imagery behind the browser's new-tab interface. It is a managed-service placement. The logo, short message and call to action arrive as a separate transparent image.
Previewing in the gallery
Use the global Brave UI toggle to switch all ads, or the toggle on an individual ad. Clean and interface previews share exactly the same artwork crop and panel scale; only the interface changes. Choose Desktop or Mobile in the gallery toolbar. These previews show one interface configuration; browser size and user settings can change what overlaps the image.
Chapter 05 — In the clear adds ten new concepts: eight philosophical scenes and two scenes of people working and sharing knowledge. Mint-green focal details sit around the recommended interest point, leaving room above and below for the interface. Earlier generations remain available as separate chapters.
Chapters 04 and 05 now use a white outlined Donate button and selected outline headline words. The outline is part of the transparent PNG panel; it does not create an additional click target. Chapter 04 integrates mint into the main photographic subjects; Chapter 05 replaces the organic seedling with a digital branching sculpture.

- Rotation: two or three distinct backgrounds with a shared logo panel.
- Destination: one direct campaign URL; the NTT specification excludes redirects and URL shorteners.
- Mobile: a portrait crop of the same background, not a separately specified portrait upload. The supplied mobile proofs are previews.

What makes a suitable image?
Use a considered photograph or illustration that works as a background. Avoid a giant logo or a single object on a flat advertising colour. People should be engaged in a natural activity, generally looking away from the camera. Charity imagery should be hopeful. Keep white lettering over darker areas and avoid duplicating the logo inside the background.
The linked creative guide is dated November 2023. It says Brave processes images to around 350 KB; that is processing guidance, not a stated upload limit. Its older colour wording is stricter than the current web specification. This set uses white panels to accommodate both. Source: Brave creative guide ↗
Content and review
Brave restricts political advertising and content involving violence, adult material, tobacco, gambling and other regulated categories. The creative guide also excludes religious promotion, inflammatory imagery and distress-based charity messaging. Our freedom and independence concepts focus on the organisation's work, without party or electoral messaging; final classification belongs to Brave.
The destination must function, match the campaign language, and provide appropriate terms or privacy information. Web3-related campaigns may receive additional review; confirm the applicable classification with the Brave team. All artwork remains subject to approval. Source: browser advertising policies ↗
Chapter 05 — In the clear
Ten ImageGen backgrounds, four shared white panels grouped as 3 + 3 + 2 + 2. Headline type ranges from 61 to 101 px; CTA text is 58 px. At the standard 96 dpi conversion, each exceeds 38 pt. The eight philosophical scenes explore autonomy, independence, knowledge and care. The two social scenes feature fictional people.
Each ad includes a clean desktop proof, a clean mobile proof, and desktop/mobile renders from a local copy of Brave's official mockup template. The mobile crop is centred at x:935 for every new concept. These previews show one reference configuration, not a guarantee for every window size or user setting. Only the landscape JPEG and transparent panel are trafficking assets; portrait images and UI previews are review files.
Generated source images are preserved and resampled to 2560 × 1440 for delivery. Dark protection behind the white panels keeps text legible. Green appears in the focal object, rather than covering the background. Prompts and the focal-position check are included in the download.
